What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a great way for families to bypass the grocery stores and buy their produce directly from a local farm. As a member, you are supporting your local farmer by purchasing a share 4-weeks to 12 weeks in advance.

What does a typical share have in it?

Your weekly share of vegetables will vary with the seasons and from week to week. We try to give you a balanced mix of vegetables with the goal of supplying a couples and families enough produce for one week. Shares typically include items like cooking greens, salad mix or lettuce, onions, root vegetables, herbs, beans, squash, peppers, and tomatoes.

Can I choose which items I receive?

No. This is not a delivery service, but a membership share in a local farm. We grow everything in its season and pick it at its best. The share is a balanced mix of what the farm has available in the field. Our members tell us they love getting surprised each week, and they enjoy trying things they may not have otherwise bought from the store.

How long is your season?

We offer our CSA produce from October to May, roughly about 32 weeks. You can sign up at any time during the year. We offer shares for 4-weeks, 8-weeks, and 12-weeks.

Is your produce all organic?

We are a Certified Naturally Grown Farm. We don't use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicide, or GMOs, just like certified organic farmers. The main difference between CNG and organic is our certification model, which relies on peer inspections, transparency, and direct relationships.

Can members visit the farm?

Yes! We offer several opportunities throughout the year for members to come see the farm for tours or volunteer restoration workdays. The best way to find out about these events is to sign up for our newsletter.

How much does it cost?

Depending on your location the cost of shares vary. Half Shares start at $20 per week and Full Shares start at $32 per week. We allow new members to try us out for 4 weeks if they are nervous about committing to longer subscriptions.

Will I be notified before my first CSA pick-up day?

After signing up for a subscription online, we will send you an “welcome email” including your delivery dates and our pause policy.  Each week during your subscription, you will receive another email “What’s in the CSA this week.” This will be sent out on Monday’s or Tuesday’s. There will be NO day of reminders.

When is the deadline to change or add orders to my subscription?

Ordering add-ons must be placed by Saturdays at 12:00pm, in order to be included in your next week CSA.  Any orders made after this time will be added to the following week’s CSA.
